LMB joins Hackney’s Clothes Swap

25/10/2007 - LMB joins Hackney’s Clothes Swap

LMB Retro teamed up with Hackney council for clothes swap event at Shoreditch Town Hall aimed at inspiring people to see the value of their unwanted clothes.

Visitors were encouraged to bring along good reusable clothes that they no longer want and swap them on the night.

The event also offered visitors the chance to learn how to design and produce cutting edge, quality garments that don’t compromise aesthetics because of their recycled nature.

Workshops were run by established London designers while LMB turned up with a vanload of vintage clothes and textiles for the fashionable folk of Shoreditch.

LMB Retro’s stall had a handpicked selection of vintage clothes with all sales going to the Police Summer Camp Project, which offers deserving children in east London a one-week holiday.

Holly Berry, designer for LMB Retro, said: “Young people are increasingly turning away from the high street and being inspired to see the value of other people’s unwanted clothes. It’s a good thing for fashion and for the environment.”
